FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: VANCOUVER’S SLATE JEWELRY HEADS TO MILAN, ITALY
Canadian jewelry designer to present modern earring collection during Milan Design Week
Vancouver, BC, Canada, April 2, 2019–
Vancouver-based jewelry designer, Christine Rio (Slate Jewelry) has created a striking collection of modern sculptural earrings to be shown during Milan Design Week, April 9 -14, 2019. As part of the Artistar Jewels 2019 temporary shop, Christine is one of the 30 exhibiting art jewelry designers to have their work available for sale. During Milan Fashion Week, February 2019, Christine was one of only two Canadian art jewelry designers to have several pieces on exhibit for Artistar Jewels 2019. This international art jewelry exhibition featured 140 artists from around the world.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION: The Milan Design Week earring collection presents a selection of “everyday” earrings that are focused on contrasts between strong geometric shapes and soft textures. For example, “Machete,” is a dramatic sharp cut oval , crafted in either silver or brass, that has been given a soft satin finish. At nearly 10 cm in length, these earrings are a sophisticated representation of the bold earrings that are in vogue today. ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Christine Rio of Slate Jewelry
